Making it on the 4th Floor

Making it on the 4th Floor of the Chattanooga Public Library

If you’ve been up to see us, you know the 4th Floor adopted an open office model – we all sit at the same table, from the newest assistant to our assistant director. It makes for a collaborative atmosphere, one that translates well to creative problem-solving for ideas that roll out across the library, not just in the hacker lounge.

Lucid Streaming: An artist dreams in digital

Guest Blogger: Tim Hinck - Tim Hinck is a composer and intermedia artist who’s intent finds expression in the disciplines of sound, light, digital media, physical materials, movement, and speech.  Hinck's Lucid Streaming composition and performance was incubated and presented on the 4th Floor during GIGTANK's Demo Day this summer. Productions of his compositions often involve musicians and dancers who are required to perform outside the realm of their specific discipline and are instructed to use a range of materials, technique, and movement to convey the topic at hand. Read Hinck's recap of his ambitious premiere of Lucid Streaming.
