Customers accessing the computers are required to be respectful of the Library staff and their fellow computer users.
Parents – Are those your kids?
When using library computers parents and caregivers are still required to monitor their children’s behavior at all times.
Noise – I can’t hear you!
Please be considerate of the people around you when accessing the computers. Short, quiet cell phone conversations are acceptable when users need information with websites. Headphones are required to listen to music or view videos and volume should be set as low as possible to avoid disturbing those seated around you. Conversations among customers at the computers should be quiet and brief.
Cell Phone Use – Remember the good old days, when no one had cell phones…
Cell phones should be set on silent or vibrate and only used when customers need information to assist with website problems. Lengthy conversations should be conducted away from the computer area.
Food and Beverages – Let’s not do lunch!
Food is not allowed in the computer area. Non-alcoholic beverages with tight fitting lids are permitted at the computers, but should be carefully monitored to avoid spilling on equipment.
Abusing Equipment – Don’t shoot me, I’m only the computer!
Customers are strictly prohibited from slamming any computer equipment, pounding on keyboards etc. We cannot replace broken equipment easily, so let’s make this stuff last.
Profanity – Hey, let’s not teach anyone any new @*%$&% words
Use of profanity is not allowed in the library or at the computers. Cursing, swearing, foul language or yelling will result in customers being asked to leave immediately.
Explicit materials – A time and a place for everything...
It is a violation of Tennessee State law to view explicit materials in the presence of minors. Customers are required to refrain from doing so when children are in the area.
