Parking at the Main/Downtown Library
EPB Complimentary 2-Hour Parking
Thanks to our friends at EPB, we now have 40 complimentary 2-hour parking passes available every day in the EPB Parking Garage located adjacent to the Downtown Library at 1-99 E 10th St, Chattanooga, TN 37402. These are available on a first come, first serve basis.
How will I know if passes are available?
When driving to the EPB Garage, look for the Green or Red sign out front of the Library entrance near the 10th Street and Broad Street intersection. If the sign is Green, passes are available! If the sign is Red, all passes have been used for the day.
How do I use one of the passes?
Enter the EPB Garage off 10th Street, and park your car. Bring your license plate number to the Circulation desk at the Downtown Library. A library staff person will then use your license plate number to validate your 2-hour parking!
What happens if I am parked for longer than 2 hours?
The 2-hour timeframe begins when you enter the garage. If you remain in the garage after the 2-hour parking pass expires, you will be responsible for any additional parking fees at the garage’s current rates: https://app.metropolis.io/onboard
What happens if I park and then find out no more passes are available?
You can either remain in the garage and pay for parking at the garage’s current rates, or you will have to return to the parking garage to move your car to avoid paying.
Where else can I park downtown?
There are metered parking spots surrounding the Downtown Library that can be paid for with change, a credit/debit card or through the ParkMobile app. There are also paid lots near the Downtown Library, located on Broad Street and Carter Street. Both lots do require a smartphone to pay via a mobile app.
CARTA’s free electric shuttle is another great option for getting around Downtown, Northshore, and St. Elmo. Click here to view a map of parking lots and garages near the shuttle route.
