Celebrating Black History Through Cooking

February 27 @ 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

We are going to celebrate Black History through cooking! Taking a recipe from Michael W. Twitty’s cookbook, The Cooking Gene, we will look at some of the rich History of the African-American and Black Community’s cooking legacy. We will cook Cowhorn Okra Soup and while it continues to cook, our young patrons will complete a creative exercise of reaching into their personal history and coming up with a recipe of their own to exemplify it.
