Historical Footsteps with Linda Moss Mines 12PM

September 26, 2023 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Does U. S. history intrigue you? Do you wish you had paid more attention in that high school or college class?

Then join Linda Moss Mines for a unique look at history through the lens of presidential politics and power in the 20th century and beyond. Beginning with Teddy Roosevelt, this FREE class will examine the major events of each presidential administration and each president’s leadership style during times of conflict and peace.

Whether it’s Roosevelt’s Corollary or Truman’s Square Deal – – Wilson and the Great War or Johnson and the Vietnam Conflict, you’ll find this class exciting, informative and fun.

Classes will be the last Tuesday of the month at BOTH 12 pm and 4:30 pm in the Downtown Library Auditorium.

Linda Moss Mines, the official Chattanooga-Hamilton County Historian, has spent the last 50 years championing the importance of ‘knowing your history’ as a teacher, civic speaker and engaged community leader. She serves as the Vice-Chairman of the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center, Secretary, Chattanooga Area Veterans Council, Honorary Regent, Chief John Ross Chapter, NSDAR, contributing writer for the Times-Free Press and Chattanoogan.com and a frequent guest on tv and radio – – always talking history. Linda was recently appointed to the Tennessee History Standards Committee by Governor Lee and the Tennessee General Assembly, helping oversee and develop public school teaching standards.
