History Workshops with Rita L. Hubbard: Always Do a Double-Take

Local historian and author Rita L. Hubbard will host two research workshops designed to guide and offer tools for writers, researchers, historians, and anyone interested in learning about the past. The workshops will draw from her experience undertaking research for her books, including “African Americans of Chattanooga.”

We will meet in the First Floor Auditorium from 11am-noon for both dates.  You are welcome to attend either or both workshops.

Workshop #1: “Always Do a Double-Take”

A presentation and workshop that helps history lovers prompt themselves to investigate old pictures, historical markers, and newspaper articles to uncover historical people and events in their area.

Workshop #2: “”African Americans of Chattanooga””
Oct 26, 11am-noon

A presentation and workshop that emphasizes early Black pioneers, locations, and historical events in and around Chattanooga. The workshop will cover how to find them and write about them.
