Join us for an interactive, hands-on storytelling program that will inspire kids to answer their dreams! Jean L.S. Patrick, author of
The Girl Who Struck Out Babe Ruth, will dramatize the story of 17-year-old pitcher Jackie Mitchell (including Jackie’s famous strikeouts!) and provide a behind-the-scenes look at her research and writing process.
Jean will bring a 95-year-old baseball glove and wear a replica of Jackie’s 1931 Chattanooga Lookouts baseball jersey. Time for questions will follow.
Jean L.S. Patrick is the author of several award-winning nonfiction books for children, including
Long-armed Ludy and the First Women’s Olympics. She lives near Mitchell, South Dakota, with her veterinarian husband and more animals than she can count.
