Library Card Renewal

All library cards are good for one year. When you’re nearing your expiration date, we will send you an email letting you know it’s time to renew.

How to renew your card

To ensure that your personal information is kept safe, we ask that you visit one of our library branches with the following:

  • Your physical library card.
  • A copy of your valid government-issued identification. If the library card belongs to a minor, the parent/guardian must submit their valid ID.
Proof of your current address, if not the same address listed on your ID.
  • A City of Chattanooga employee badge, if a city employee.
Any applicable non-resident fee will be posted at the time the library card application is processed by a staff member.

If you no longer have your library card, we can issue you a replacement at any of our locations during normal operating hours with current photo identification.
