The Toy Library

Introducing the newest (and most fun) Beyond Books collection: The Toy Library! This collection features high quality, educational toys designed to support the development of cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, emotional, and linguistic skills.

Playing is where fun leads to learning, and educational toys and games are effective tools that librarians and teachers use everyday. But toys can be expensive, so reinforcing those skills through play at home can be a challenge for many families. Not with the Toy Library!

Thanks to generous support from the UNFoundation, the Chattanooga Public Library now offers dozens of toys that can be checked out and used to support learning at home. The collection is designed to be:

Multilingual
Accessible design
Inclusive
Environmentally Friendly
Simple – batteries are either included or not needed

Tonies and Toniboxes

The Toniebox is an innovative, audio player for kids designed to bring audio stories, music, and learning to life for kids of all ages. Easy to use and perfect for little hands, Tonies feature everything from Disney favorites and bedtime stories to mindfulness activities and interactive learning experiences. Whether at home or on the go, kids can enjoy endless engaging entertainment while sparking their imagination screen free!

Check out up to 3 Tonies (including the Toniebox) at a time, for up to 2 weeks.

Note: Tonies can be checked out without the Toniebox, if you already have one at home.

Other Educational Toys

These include Montessori toys, Magna-Tiles, Little Tykes Story Dream Machines, GeoSafari Taking Microscope, and so more!
