The Studio at the Chattanooga Public Library provides library card holders free access to an educational recording studio equipped with industry-standard technology and resources to help inspire, educate, and spark creativity.

With a valid library card you can reserve up to 6 hours of sessions a month in the Studio to work on your projects, learn the art of recording from our instructor, and refine your skills.

Once your application has been submitted you will be contacted via email regarding studio guidelines and time slot availability. Due to high demand, Open Studio sessions are sometimes not available for up to two weeks from the current date.
The studio is located on the 2nd floor of the Downtown Chattanooga Public Library and consists of three live rooms: vocal booth, drum room, live room and the main control room.
The studio is just under 1,000 square feet and features 48 line inputs and 40 microphone preamps.
The studio is not designed to connect personal computers to the system for recording, but a laptop can be connected to the monitors for mixing and mastering purposes. All work must be saved on a personal hard drive or transferred via AirDrop or cloud storage; Google Drive, Dropbox etc.
No food or drink allowed inside the studio.
