New Book: Cherokee Wampum

Karen Coody Cooper's Cherokee Wampum : War & Peace Belts: 1730 to Present offers a study of first-hand accounts of meetings and negotiations with Cherokee leaders that include details regarding the use of wampum belts. The book also discusses the existence of seven sacred belts and the importance of the use of wampum in modern Cherokee culture​. 

New series by E. Raymond Evans now available

Chattanooga local author, E. Raymond Evans, has recently published multiple titles relating to the Civil War Sesquicentennial. The library has obtained several of Mr. Evans' books in the past, in fact, over 50 titles in our collection bear his name.
