Library Outreach

The Chattanooga Public Library is committed to serving all Chattanoogans through a variety of outreach services. From school and class visits to community meetings and neighborhood events, we can customize our presentations, programs, and activities to accommodate any and all ages, in a fun and educational way. What is “Outreach”?

At the Chattanooga Public Library, we align with the American Library Association’s definition of “outreach”. ALA defines outreach as 

“providing library services and programs outside the walls of the library to underserved and underrepresented populations; populations such as new and non-readers, LGBTQIA people, people of color, [under-resourced people and people experiencing homelessness], and people who are or were incarcerated.”
