Join us for an afternoon celebrating our newest exhibition, Through the Lens: The Life and Legacy of Horace Brazelton!
Through the Lens, curated by Historian Stefanie Haire, this exhibition showcases the life and work of photographer Horace Brazelton, the first African American to open a photography studio in Chattanooga.
The event will feature light refreshments, music, and free miniature portrait selfies. Special guests include members of the Brazelton family and Dionne Jenkins, chair of the Chattanooga Public Library Board of Directors. Historian Stefanie Haire will also be presenting the family with official copies of Mayor Tim Kelly’s Proclamation of Horace Brazelton Day.
Thank you to all the organizations who have helped shape this exhibition, including Picnooga/Chattanooga Historical Society, RISE Chattanooga, Ruby Falls, and MTSU Center for Historic Preservation.
